One of our New Year's projects this year was to paint the bottom half of the Palm Tree bathroom (the powder room off the dining room). I decided to sponge on brown paint for the very practical reason that nothing will show on it.
While we try to keep this bathroom for "guests only," the reality is that it's the first stop for children who've forgotten to wash their hands before we eat.
We need to buy new fixtures, so this can't be classified as a "makeover," but it is definitely an improvement!

ok, question, what did you use to write the words on the wall and when you sponge paint how do you do that?
ReplyDeleteHere goes:
ReplyDeleteTo write the words, I just printed out the verse in a font I like and drew it on the wall. First with a pencil, then I went over it with a gold paint pen.
To sponge, using regular semi-gloss paint and a sea sponge available in the paint dept of walmart, I dabbed a little on the sponge, then on the wall. Practice on a piece of cardboard until you like the look.
Have fun!
I can attest that it is beautiful and i actually think it is prettier in person than the pic...if that is possible. Love it!
